SUNDAY SCHOOL HOUR
(9:15 A.M. - 10:15 A.M.)
Class: Heritage of Worship
Teacher: Pastor Neil Stewart et al
This class is so important that it will be a joint class for all adults and youth 9th-12th grade. Over the course of the semester, we will study our own rich heritage of worship in three parts. First, we will delve into the “whys” of our historical order of worship and consider how worship is a sort of divine dialogue between God and man. Second, we will spend six weeks in a first-ever practicum studying and singing six great hymns of our faith. For each hymn we will explore its history, its robust theology, and then we will learn to sing it together in harmony - yes, EVERYONE - the entire congregation is a choir! In the third and final segment of the class, we will consider how the glory of God is extolled from houses of worship and our own sanctuary to the world outside and how we worship God outside the walls of the church - so that we may glorify God excellently in everyday life and enjoy Him thoroughly along with the things of earth which He has created.
